Put the information together
- Record freight length, width, height and weight, noting attachments and anything removed for transport.
- Measure overall loaded height from the road surface and the widest and longest points of the full configuration.
- Provide axle weights, spacing, tire information and overhang when the carrier or permitting authority requires them.
What to confirm
Keep estimates marked as estimates. Do not add freight height to a guessed deck height and present it as a verified transport measurement. Re-measure when equipment, load position or attachments change.
Keep one current shipment record
- Record the final measurements and the person confirming them.
- Keep the proposed route and intended movement date with the load details.
- Recheck the plan when a material shipment detail changes.
