What happens if a freight delivery cannot be completed?

Contact the broker or carrier immediately and fix the reason the first delivery failed before requesting another attempt. Redelivery is a second movement, and the freight may be held or stored until the next delivery can be arranged.

The short answer

Redelivery is another delivery attempt after the first tender could not be completed. The freight may return to a service center or another holding point while new instructions are arranged.

Fix the failed-delivery condition before sending the truck back.

Find out why delivery failed — closed facility, appointment, access or unloading problem.
Confirm the new receiving plan — date, hours, contact and equipment.
Confirm freight location — know where it is being held.

What happens between attempts

Carrier rules differ. TForce Freight treats each additional tender to the original destination as redelivery under its tariff, and storage provisions can apply while freight waits.
