Put the information together
- Compare the issued document with the actual vehicle identifiers, configuration, dimensions and shipment.
- Check validity dates, authorized roads, escort conditions and any attached provisions before dispatch.
- Contact the issuing authority when the plan changes. Obtain the required amendment or replacement rather than editing the permit yourself.
What to confirm
The effect of a change depends on the jurisdiction and permit. An extension or correction is not automatic, and a planning report cannot amend an issued authorization.
Keep one current shipment record
- Record the final measurements and the person confirming them.
- Keep the proposed route and intended movement date with the load details.
- Recheck the plan when a material shipment detail changes.
Start with the applicable state guide
Use the Oversize Load Planner and State Permit Guide to organize the corridor and see which published facts have been reviewed. Each field identifies its official source. Unresolved requirements and costs remain visible for follow-up.
Official reference
Wyoming Motor Carrier Chapter 5, adopted 30 April 2025 supports the jurisdiction-specific examples behind this guide. Other states can use different requirements. Final permits, routes and movement conditions are determined by the applicable issuing authorities.
