What to confirm
A planning estimate is useful for organizing the work. It does not replace an issued permit, and a permit for one jurisdiction does not automatically cover every road on the trip.
Keep one current shipment record
- Record the final measurements and the person confirming them.
- Keep the proposed route and intended movement date with the load details.
- Recheck the plan when a material shipment detail changes.

Wyoming Motor Carrier Chapter 5, adopted 30 April 2025 supports the jurisdiction-specific examples behind this guide. Other states can use different requirements. Final permits, routes and movement conditions are determined by the applicable issuing authorities.
