NMFC note
The NMFC changed substantially in 2025. NMFTA states that the standard full-density scale expanded from 11 to 13 subprovisions and more than 2,000 items moved toward full-scale density classification, while handling, stowability and liability can still matter. Do not use an abbreviation list or density result as a substitute for confirming the correct NMFC item. See NMFTA's 2025 shipper guidance.
