Before you call the shipment ready
- Confirm piece or pallet count
- Confirm actual weight and dimensions
- Check pallets and packaging for damage
- Remove product overhang where possible
- Wrap and protect the load appropriately
- Confirm whether freight is stackable
- Confirm loading equipment and dock access
- Identify special securement needs
- Confirm temperature requirements when applicable
- Have shipping paperwork ready
- Make sure the pickup contact can be reached
